Kinect for Xbox 360, or simply Kinect (originally known by the code name Project Natal), is a "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience" by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform, and may later be supported by PCs via Windows 8. Based around a webcam-style add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller, through a natural user interface using gestures and spoken commands. The project is aimed at broadening the Xbox 360's audience beyond its typical gamer base. Kinect competes with the Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus and PlayStation Move & PlayStation Eye motion control systems for the Wii and PlayStation 3 home consoles, respectively.
As it seems, gaming has gone far away from just gamepads and joysticks, and I can hardly wait to get my Kinect!
By the way, I hope everyone had a wonderful last New Year's eve and I hope the next one will be way better than the last was! Enjoy!
Haven't switched on our Wii in over a year so I doubt we'll be paying up for this.
ReplyDeleteNever tried the Xbox 360 but it looks fun! Happy New year to you too ^_^
ReplyDeleteI've seen some videos with this, looks quite interesting :)
ReplyDeleteDon't have a xbox but would love to test it =]
I'm looking to get one despite the fact you look retarded while using it.

ReplyDeletestill dont have a 360 either :(
ReplyDeleteThe technology is interesting, but so far it hasn't set itself apart from the Wii, at least in terms of software.
ReplyDeleteEven though I don't have a 360 the technology behind this seems so interesting. But then again I'm super lazy and would rather use a controller.
ReplyDeletemy boyfriend bought it...and I have to say that's so funny to play with it!!
